Review: 'Steamy: A Romance Anthology that Sizzles'
Hello all!
In an attempt to start the year off right and stick to my resolutions, I read quite a few books this month.
My talented friend, Heather Kinnane, had a story accepted into Steamy: A romance anthology that sizzles, along with 19 writers that I've never read before, so I was keen to check out this collection and hopefully find some new authors to follow.

My review:
There's a wide variety of tropes
in this collection, and being short stories there are many about couples
reconnecting and first loves rekindled, etc. I don't mind these, they can be
done in many different ways, but there were a few where I thought that the
femaie MC rushed to forgive the guy who broke her heart in the past. So, I will
admit to skimming through a few stories, but overall, most were light and
fun....and sexy!
My favourites were:
Rocks by Ivy
Nelson>> The couple in this story had a one-night stand some time
ago, and reconnect when Amalia is a producer on a show filming in Mitch's bar.
it doesn't take much for their connection to re-ignite. The BDSM lifestyle is
opening discussed, but not graphically shown. I would assume Ivy's other
stories in this linked world are much kinkier...yes, I will be checking those
out!
Sweet Tooth by
K.D. Elizabeth>> This one is super fun! The banter and sexual
tension between the 2 lead characters is perfect. I couldn't stop chuckling as
I read it. Marco is such a stiff, strict boss, but you can just tell he's
holding back. Izzie is the right girl to bring it out too. Will be checking out
more of K.D. Elizabeth's books for sure.
Nobody's Perfect by
Nadia Mack>> Cole is secretly in love with his straight best friend
Phil, but will they ever go there? This relationship was set up well and
believable, and the guys are totally adorable. You want to see them together!
Bumper Crop by
Jessie Harper>> The MCs went there separate ways after high school,
but both find themselves back in their hometowns later in life and reconnect.
This is a sweet story, but not cheesy (as this trope can be) and is
well-written. You can easily relate to these characters too.
Heating Up by
Heather Kinnane>> This is the only menage story in the anthology, and it's
a little toned down from Heather's usual books (which I highly recommend), but
I enjoyed it a lot. It has a really good balance of humor, sexy times, and
emotional connection. And firies are always HOT! More please Heather...
